On August 1 Jack de Keijzer has joined Silver Arrows Racing as new team manager. He succeeds Christophe Vermeersch who was hired at the start of the rally season but Christophe is currently not able to free up sufficient time for Silver Arrows as he is also involved in the organization of other rally events.
In that role Jack de Keijzer will be the first point of contact for clients and ensure that they can come to the start of a race without any stress or worries. As a coordinator he will manage the whole team, be responsible for all rental activities as well as all administrative and logistical support regarding the participation to race events and he will also directly lead the team of mechanics during events. He will also be responsible for the organization of tailor made VIP events.
Bart Vanhaverbeke, founder of Silver Arrows Racing, is very happy with the new team manager: “As we have now two cars available, we also aim to participate in large international events such as the East African Safari Rally and this requires a different approach. Jack has over 22 years rally experience and has worked in various WRC teams and knows this environment like no other. His international experience will help us to further professionalize our organization so we can achieve our ambition for the future which is to become a recognized top team in the international historic rally circuit.
Jack de Keijzer is indeed not unfamiliar with the rally sport. The Dutchman started working as a mechanic on rally cars when he was 16 years old and even raced as a driver for a number of years. In 1988 he started his professional career in rallying as a mechanic in the official Dutch Martini Lancia team. In 1990 he joined the official Mazda WRC team. From there he moved on to the Nissan WRC team and then several Ford WRC teams, Alfa Romeo Netherlands and SEAT Sport. From 2004 until May 2010, Jack worked as team coordinator for Rene Georges Rally Sport and was responsible for, among other things, the IRC and SWRC programs. He is currently team coordinator of the PWRC Team of Mitsubishi Ralliart Italy, a position he will combine with his role at Silver Arrows Racing.
Jack is very excited about his new challenge: “Silver Arrows Racing’s ambitions as well as their professional approach have convinced me to join this team. I am convinced that with my experience and expertise I can contribute to the further expansion of this fantastic organization.”
Bart Vanhaverbeke concludes: “The hiring of Jack de Keijzer is a new step in the further internationalization of our organization and our objective to deliver a perfect customer service. It is not sufficient to just offer a reliable and competitive car; the associated services highly contribute to the success and the customer satisfaction. The team manager has the end responsibility and ensures that everything runs smoothly without any problems. I would like to thank Christophe Vermeersch again for his efforts and progress in recent months and wish him every success in the further organization of rally events.”
Jack de Keijzer is 47 years old, married and father of 1 daughter.
